A hand-built oak bench with a fan-carved backrest and heart detail — reclaimed oak, a form inspired by the classic English park bench, made to last in gardens, parks and public spaces.

The fan back is one of those traditional garden bench designs that doesn’t date: the radiating slats draw the eye upward while keeping the seat open and airy, and the heart carved into the centre gives it a human touch without being fussy. Made from reclaimed and sustainable oak — wood that’s already lived one life and is ready for another — each bench carries an honesty of material that new-sawn timber rarely manages. The grain, the colour, the occasional knot are part of what it is.

Finish

This piece is supplied unvarnished as standard. Left natural, solid oak slowly weathers to a soft, silvery-grey — completely normal for outdoor timber, a graceful way for a piece to age, and with no maintenance needed. If you’d prefer to bring out the grain and warm, honeyed tones, choose the varnished option (+£50) and we’ll hand-apply three coats of Epifanes, a premium marine yacht varnish.
