Run your hand along most stair rails and you'll feel… not much. Straight, smooth, forgettable. Now imagine wrapping your fingers around a rail that still remembers being a branch — every twist, knot and gentle curve exactly where nature put it.
That's our driftwood and oak handrail, and lately it's been quietly climbing to become one of the most-visited pieces on our whole site — holding its own against the storytelling chairs and fantasy beds. We can see why. It's one of those rare things that's properly practical and genuinely sculptural at the same time.

There are two characters to choose from. The solid oak rail is warm and golden, full of movement — it feels like a branch growing along your wall. The driftwood version is paler and beachier, with sun-bleached tones that suit coastal homes and lighter interiors beautifully. Both arrive with sturdy cast iron brackets, ready to fix straight to the wall.
The making is the part we love. We pick each length of timber for its shape and character first — the wiggle is the whole point — then work it by hand in our Mid Wales workshop until it's silky smooth to hold but keeps all of its wildness. No two rails are ever the same, and because every one is made to order, we can shape yours to any length from 1.2m to over 4m, including matching rails for landings and stair turns.

A staircase is something you touch every single day — it may as well be something worth touching.
