The Basic Composting Toilet is our entry-level building — straightforward, robust, and built to the same standard as everything else we make in Wales. If you need a reliable off-grid toilet for an allotment, nature reserve, community garden, or low-footfall campsite, this is the honest choice: no unnecessary extras, just a well-made wooden composting toilet that does its job quietly and without complaint.
Unlike cheap plastic portable loos, this is a real timber structure — handcrafted, designed to sit in a landscape without looking out of place, and built to last. The bucket system keeps things simple, the urine separator keeps things odour-free, and the whole thing goes up without foundations or specialist tools.
Key Features
- Odour-free by design — the integrated urine separator diverts liquid waste, eliminating smell and producing a useful liquid fertiliser for your plot.
- No water or electricity needed — a genuinely off-grid composting toilet, ideal for allotments, woodland sites, and rural locations without mains services.
- Simple bucket system — solid waste collects in a bucket beneath the seat, making emptying straightforward and hygienic.
- Compact footprint — at 90 × 120 cm, it fits into tight spaces without fuss.
- Handmade in Wales — quality timber construction built to stand up to British weather for years.

Delivery
Your compost toilet is delivered flat-pack on an oversized pallet by a national pallet courier, which is both cost-effective and included in the price.
Delivery is curbside — the driver will bring the pallet to the nearest point accessible by road, but won't cross fields or soft ground. Because the pallet is oversized, it can't be lowered on a tail lift and needs to be taken from the side of the lorry.
If you have access to a forklift or tractor, that's ideal — you can fork the pallet straight off and move it directly to your installation spot. If not, no problem at all: just have two people available on the day to help handball the panels down from the lorry. It's straightforward, and many of our customers manage without any machinery.
If you'd prefer a personal delivery and installation service, please get in touch to discuss.

Dear Suzanne
I hope that you are well.
I.am pleased to attached some pictures of our newly erected compost tiolet.
We are very pleased with the quality of the craftsmanship and proud to have it as our first functional cabin for our off grid adventures.
Unfortunately the sink didn't arrive with the delivery, can you confirm that it was sent please?
I can confirm that the 25lt container is at the local post office awaiting collection, many thanks for this.
Kind regards
Andy & Anthea
