The Double Disabled Access Compost Toilet Block is our most comprehensive accessible sanitation building — two fully wheelchair-accessible composting toilet cubicles with a central handwashing area, built to statutory DDA dimensions and handcrafted in Wales. Designed for visitor centres, community spaces, parks, nature reserves, campsites, and any public facility that takes inclusion seriously, this is a toilet block that combines genuine accessibility with an outstanding commitment to sustainability.
Grant Funding Available for Disabled Access Toilet Buildings
Disabled access composting toilet buildings like this one are routinely funded through public and charitable grant programmes. If you are a community organisation, a charity, a land trust, or a public body, you may well be able to cover the majority of the cost through grant funding rather than capital budgets. Funding sources that have supported projects like this include the National Lottery Community Fund, Groundwork UK, the Rural England Prosperity Fund, the UK Shared Prosperity Fund, Natural England stewardship schemes, and local authority accessibility improvement grants. We are happy to support your funding application with project information, technical specifications, and letters of support — contact us to discuss your project.
Full DDA-Compliant Wheelchair Access
Both toilet cubicles are built to statutory wheelchair-accessible dimensions with turning space, grab rails, and a level-access entrance. The central handwashing area sits between the two cubicles, providing a shared facility that maximises space without compromising accessibility. The building as a whole is designed to meet the access requirements of all users, including those with mobility impairments, making it fully suitable for public use on sites with a duty to provide accessible facilities.
Ideal for Visitor Centres, Community Spaces, and Nature Reserves
This double-cubicle block is built for high-footfall, high-visibility public settings. Visitor centres, nature reserves, country parks, allotment sites, community gardens, outdoor education centres, and accessible glamping sites all face the same challenge: providing proper toilet facilities for disabled visitors without connecting to mains drainage that may be impossible or prohibitively expensive to install. Our waterless composting toilet system solves that problem entirely — no sewer connection, no chemicals, no odour, and no impact on the surrounding environment.
Waterless Composting System
Each cubicle uses a urine-separating seat and a 240-litre wheelie bin for waste collection. Separated urine is directed to a soakaway or collection vessel; solid waste composts in the bin over approximately 12 months before the fully composted material can be used as a soil amendment. The system is entirely waterless and chemical-free, making it suitable for sensitive sites including nature reserves, SSSIs, and areas where groundwater protection is a priority.
Handmade in Wales — Built Around Your Project
Every toilet block we build is customer-driven. All of our accessible buildings have developed through conversations with the organisations that use them — and we are committed to that approach. If you have specific requirements around dimensions, access ramp gradient, cladding, colour, internal fittings, or integration with an existing building, contact us and we will design something that works for your site and your users.
