A three-seater oak bench with hand-carved tigers on the armrests and backrest — the kind of piece that stops people in their tracks whether it's standing in a garden, beside a river, or at the edge of a wildlife park.
Tigers are chosen for their power and their tenderness. They're fierce protectors as much as they are wild things, and that duality is what makes them such a natural fit for a bench that's meant to endure. Each face is carved individually, the grain of the oak working with the lines of the chisel to give each tiger its own expression. The bench has been placed in school wildlife gardens, beside rivers, and in memorial settings for people whose spirit matched the animal — it works in all of them.
The carving is deep enough to hold its definition outdoors for years. Prices include VAT.

Finish
This piece is supplied unvarnished as standard. Left natural, solid oak slowly weathers to a soft, silvery-grey — completely normal for outdoor timber, a graceful way for a piece to age, and with no maintenance needed. If you’d prefer to bring out the grain and warm, honeyed tones, choose the varnished option (+£50) and we’ll hand-apply three coats of Epifanes, a premium marine yacht varnish.
More about the two finishes
Outdoor furniture takes a real beating from sun and weather. Left natural, an unvarnished piece simply silvers over time and asks nothing of you. A varnished piece keeps its rich sheen for a couple of years; after that the varnish may begin to flake or patch, at which point you can simply re-coat it, or let it weather back to that natural silvery-grey. Either way, your oak is fine.
