A bed built from sustainable local timber and gnarled hand-picked driftwood from the coast of West Wales — wood that has grown under constellations and travelled from shores unknown before finding its way here.
The name comes from the feeling of the piece as much as any literal design. The driftwood is chosen for its knotted, weathered form — the kind of wood that accumulates history before it accumulates use. The structural timbers are sourced from Welsh woodlands: solid, dense, and selected to complement the organic lines of the driftwood rather than fight them. The headboard incorporates circular wood accents — turned and shaped discs that catch the light differently from the surrounding grain. Combined with spalted beech elements, the overall effect is of something assembled from things the landscape offered rather than things the factory produced. No two versions look the same, because the wood available is never quite the same.
The frame is built using solid hand-built joinery throughout, with a natural oil finish across all elements.
