A four-poster bed built entirely from individually selected pieces of Welsh driftwood — four posts gathered from the coastline, headboard and footboard from the same material, nothing added that doesn’t need to be there.
What this bed has going for it is simplicity and material quality. The driftwood used in each one is sourced from the beaches and rivers near our workshop in West Wales — gathered by hand, selected for structural soundness and natural character, and worked as little as possible to preserve the forms the water created. The joinery is solid hand-built throughout. The slats for mattress support are included. This bed works equally well in a private bedroom or a B&B guestroom — it has the durability for daily use and the presence that makes a room worth photographing. Some versions incorporate willow in the headboard alongside the driftwood, bringing an additional warmth and texture to the piece.
