Worked into solid sustainably sourced wood with a combination of pyrography and hand carving, this Alice in Wonderland Bed tells its story in the language of the grain itself — the Cheshire Cat's grin emerging from the wood, the White Rabbit's pocket watch ticking in a corner of the headboard, each detail drawn with fire and blade rather than paint.
Pyrography has a quality that no other decorative technique quite matches: the burn sits in the wood rather than on it, the tones shifting from pale gold to deep mahogany depending on heat and duration, the marks as permanent as the timber itself. Here it's combined with hand carving, so the scene has both the depth of relief and the warm, graphic quality of the burned line. The frame is hand-built in solid sustainably sourced wood, joined throughout with solid hand-built joinery and made to outlast anything you'd find in a furniture showroom.

Your Version
Pyrography commissions are some of the most personal we take on — because the imagery becomes genuinely part of the wood, not something applied to it. If you have characters, a landscape, a quote, or a scene you'd like translated into pyrography and carving, tell us about it. We work in other stories and other styles too. Typical lead time is 4–5 weeks.
