The Elven Story Time Chair is a hand-carved solid oak storytelling throne with the elegant, flowing lines and organic grace that give it an unmistakably elven quality — a chair that makes any space feel like the beginning of an ancient story.

Where our Viking chairs are bold and commanding, the Elven chair is quieter and more mysterious. The carving has a lightness to it — curves where other chairs have angles, details that emerge gradually as you look more closely. It works beautifully in forest school settings and woodland gardens where the natural grain of the oak and the organic lines of the carving feel like they belong to the same world.

Your Version

We can add elven script, leaf and branch motifs, star patterns, or any other detail that fits the world you have in mind. We can also work from a specific book or mythology — if your school is doing a Tolkien project, a forest school theme, or a nature-based curriculum, tell us and we will design from there. Every chair starts with a sketch, which we share before carving begins.

Typical lead time is 4–5 weeks. Prices include VAT. Schools can order by purchase order and pay on invoice. If your school or trust needs to register us as a supplier, we will provide everything needed.

Finish

This piece is supplied unvarnished as standard. Left natural, solid timber slowly weathers to a soft, silvery-grey — completely normal for outdoor timber, a graceful way for a piece to age, and with no maintenance needed. If you’d prefer to bring out the grain and warm, honeyed tones, choose the varnished option (+£50) and we’ll hand-apply three coats of Epifanes, a premium marine yacht varnish.
