Here is our most recently installed Disabled Access Composting Toilet, commissioned by Hounslow Action Group (HAG). The toilet is cited in the HAG community garden, an oasis of nature and calm just a stone's throw away from Heathrow Airport.
The wooden compost toilet features a wheelchair accessible ramp complete with supporting handrail, grab rails inside, and plenty of room for a wheelchair user plus carer to move around inside.
This model features a wall mounted urinal, which is recommended for male users. The toilet contains a Free Range Designs urine separator, which diverts the urine away from the solids and maintains a healthy compost pile in the wheelie bin. The urine from both the urinal and separator are piped to the same soakaway in the ground.
HAG were looking for an attractive compost toilet that would be in keeping with the natural surroundings of their community garden and are thrilled with the end product.
Paul and Tony drove the toilet and ramp from our workshop in Wales and spent a couple of days on site installing it all. The toilet was all ready to use when they left, just in time for a community event the following day.
Garden Coordinator, Mar, said, "Thank you so much for the amazing work, the compost toilet looks very impressive."
