An Extraordinary Bench for an Extraordinary Man

An Extraordinary Bench for an Extraordinary Man

When Sarah reached out to us, she was searching for something special — a bench to honour her husband Andy, who tragically passed away during the swim section of an Ironman competition. She described him simply as “an extraordinary man,” and from the stories she shared, we knew this memorial needed to reflect that.

Crafted from solid oak, the bench now rests beside the lake where Andy trained — a place of focus, discipline, and peace. It carries carved images of an Ironman in motion, symbols of strength and movement, as well as tender words from his family. Every curve and engraving was made with Andy’s story in mind: husband, father, athlete, friend.

The final message beneath the seat — "Imagine all the people, living life in peace" — was chosen by Sarah. A quiet echo of Andy’s spirit, and a reminder to all who pass by to live fully, kindly, and with purpose.

We’re honoured to have been part of this tribute. Thank you, Sarah, for trusting us to help share Andy’s legacy in wood.
