A hand-carved wooden entrance archway in solid Douglas Fir — commissioned by Studfold Farm to mark the beginning of their adventure trails and invite children into a world of imagination.
Every trail needs a threshold — a moment when the ordinary world gives way to something else. When Studfold Farm in North Yorkshire set about creating their fairy and adventure trails, they came to us to build the gateway. The archway is carved and painted throughout: positive words, natural motifs, and colours that draw the eye before a single step has been taken into the trail beyond. It stands as a signal: something wonderful is about to begin.
Built from solid Douglas Fir with solid hand-built joinery and finished with Epifanes matt varnish — three coats — for outdoor durability in all weathers. The carved and painted elements are sealed for longevity. This is a permanent outdoor structure designed to last and to make an impression year after year.

Entrance arches can be sized to any path width, with height adjusted to suit adults, children, or vehicles. Carved motifs, painted words, logos, or school names can all be incorporated. We work from a design brief that you share with us and refine until it feels right. Pricing depends on size, detail, and delivery location — contact us to discuss.
Typical lead time is 6–8 weeks for large-scale commissions. Prices include VAT. Schools, trusts, and visitor attractions can order by purchase order — we'll supply our VAT number, bank details and address for supplier registration.
