Commissioned for Mountain View Ranch in Cardiff, this arch turns the entrance to a nature trail into something you don’t just walk through — you stop, peer at the carved beetles and snails, and then you walk through.
Built from oak framing with Douglas Fir carved sections, it carries ladybirds, butterflies, snails, and beetles on both faces — a double-sided design that works equally well for visitors arriving and leaving. The central “Bug Trail” plaque is carved and can be changed to match your trail’s name: Fairy Forest, Dragon Trail, Wildlife Walk. The internal diameter is 3 metres, wide enough for pushchairs and maintenance vehicles. The structure is modular for transport and assembly.
