Bespoke wooden signs, hand-carved and engraved in our workshop near Machynlleth, Mid Wales. From a house name by the front door to a farm entrance, a shop front or a whole nature trail, every sign we make is drawn up around your wording, your logo or your own sketch, then cut in solid timber on our CNC and finished by hand. House signs & name plates

Carved and engraved house signs, cottage and chalet name boards, and wall plaques for the home. Crisp CNC-engraved lettering with a black infill against light oak, or deeper relief carving with animals, mountains, trees or a view that means something to you. Recent commissions include a skyline sign for a family home and a high-relief carved chalet sign with a stoat perched on top.

Business, shop & farm signs

Trail, wayfinding & interpretation signs

Carved entrance signs, wayfinding and interpretation signs for parks, schools, nature reserves, wildlife hides and heritage sites. We have carved a richly detailed oak wildlife hide sign, a school fence sign carved from a pupil's own drawing, and the woodland reading-corner sign Judith's Corner. How it works

1. Send us your idea — the wording, a logo, a sketch or a photo of where the sign will go, plus a rough size.
2. We draw it up — we send sketches and a digital preview so you can see exactly how your sign will look.
3. You approve — nothing is cut until you've signed off the design. A 50% deposit books it into the workshop.
4. We make it — CNC-carved or engraved in solid timber, then hand-finished, infilled and sealed.
5. Delivered — we send photos before dispatch, then deliver across the UK (and to Europe). Wall signs can come pre-drilled with fixings.

Most signs take around four weeks from design sign-off. Got a deadline — an opening, a birthday, the end of term? Tell us and we'll do our best to hit it.

Timber & finish

Most of our signs are cut from solid UK oak, around 30mm thick for outdoor wall-mounted signs; we also use Douglas fir for larger painted signs. Engraved lettering can be filled with tough black sign writer's enamel for sharp, lasting contrast. Every sign is finished for outdoor use — typically Osmo oil on engraved oak, or a matt marine varnish on deeper relief carving — and a fresh coat every year or two keeps it looking its best.
