This isn't a games table — it's an heirloom in disguise, built from a reclaimed school science bench with a Welsh slate chessboard on top and a full backgammon board hidden underneath.
The tabletop began life as a science lab workbench in a Welsh school. When the building was demolished, the tropical hardwood top was salvaged and brought to our workshop. It's dense, smooth, and carries the honest patina of decades of use. The legs are turned from salvaged Welsh oak fence posts — materials with a story attached, shaped into something built for another century of use.
Lift the slate chessboard and a full backgammon board is revealed, inlaid into the hardwood surface below. A hidden compartment inside the frame stores all the pieces for both games — nothing left on the table when you're done. The slate is cut from Welsh quarry slate, polished to a smooth, tactile finish. Prices include VAT.
