A hand-carved solid oak memorial bench with Asian elephants in the backrest — chosen by Fred for his wife Sue, because she had spent time in Thailand and loved them. Made in memory of Susan Pauline Leah Dicker, 8.12.59–12.7.24.
Fred’s brief was as understated as it was clear: “Nothing over the top.” What followed was anything but ordinary. He wrote both inscriptions himself — the first along the seat back: “From sunrise to sunset, a blessed place from above. Each day gives a rebirth of Joy, Peace and Love.” The second, below the seat: “Sunshine Sue, you will remain in our hearts forever, and we know your spirit dances with the stars.” He sent it with the note: “Feel free to amend.” We didn’t change a word.
Built from solid oak with three coats of Epifanes matt varnish for all-weather outdoor resilience, the bench carries Sue’s full name and dates alongside Fred’s words. Your version begins the same way — with a name, the things that mattered, and the words that feel right. Prices include VAT.
