A blanket box that works as a coffee table. A coffee table with a place to put things away. The top lifts clean off the four reclaimed oak uprights, giving you access to the storage inside, then seats securely back into place. The whole piece is built from reclaimed Welsh oak fence posts — timber that has already been outside for decades and carries that history in its grain, its colouring, and its character.
It’s a compact piece — 75cm long, 55cm wide, 50cm high — which makes it the right size for a sitting room without dominating it. The proportions are solid and low, with the kind of slightly wild, irregular surface texture you only get from reclaimed timber. If there is such a thing as a hobbit-style coffee table, this is probably it.
