Three materials that have no business being on the same table — and yet they work perfectly together. Welsh oak for the legs and frame. Reclaimed slate from a former pool table, polished smooth and linseed-oiled for the surface. And striking red-orange jarrah driftwood woven through the structure, bringing warmth and movement to what could have been a plain table.
The jarrah is the element that stops people. It’s a hardwood from Australia, carried here as ballast or salvaged from old harbour timbers, and it ages with a depth of colour that no paint or stain can replicate. Against the cool grey of the slate and the warm honey of the oak, it creates a surface you want to look at as much as sit around. Every piece is slightly different — the exact run of the jarrah, the grain of the slate — and every table is made individually to order in our workshop in Mid Wales.
Built with traditional mortise and tenon joinery throughout, this table is as solid as it looks. It works as well in a kitchen or dining room as it does on a terrace or patio. The slate is oiled with linseed oil for stain resistance and easy cleaning; the oak frame is finished with organic Danish oil. Prices include VAT.
