A complete bedroom centrepiece hand-built in the Free Range workshop in Mid Wales — the Handcrafted Woodland Sunrise Bed pairs a carved headboard of rising sun and interweaving tree branches with matching handmade bedside tables, bringing a cohesive, organic warmth to the whole room.
The headboard is carved entirely by hand in solid wood, the rising sun bursting outward through a canopy of branches that fill the frame from edge to edge. It's the kind of carving that takes on new depth as the light changes through the day — shadows shifting, grain catching differently in morning sun and evening lamp-light. The matching night tables are built in the same materials and with the same hand-carved detailing, making the whole set feel genuinely unified rather than assembled from parts. Everything is finished in natural oil for a warm, lasting surface that only improves with age.

Your Version
The woodland sunrise scene is a favourite commission at the workshop — we've built many variations of it, each one different. Different carved details, different wood species, different scenes woven through the branches: a hare, a fox, the constellations, a line of poetry. Or simply tell us what you love about the one you've seen and we'll use that as a starting point. Typical lead time is 4–5 weeks, with flexibility if you have a specific date to meet.
