Built tall on long solid oak legs, the High Storage Bed turns the space beneath into generous, accessible storage — and doubles as one of the most architectural bed frames the Free Range workshop produces. The chunky, natural form of the legs gives it the quality of an ancient tree, indoors or out.
This is a variation of our Rustic Oak Bed, the legs extended to raise the frame high enough that under-bed storage becomes genuinely usable rather than just technically present. Built from solid Welsh oak throughout — no veneers, no compromises — with solid hand-built joinery and finished in three coats of Epifanes matt varnish, it's as much at home outdoors as in, whether that means a garden room, a glamping cabin, or a fairy-tale outdoor sleeping space. The same frame that maximises a small bedroom indoors becomes a sculptural tree-like four poster in the right outdoor setting.

Your Version
The High Storage Bed is fully bespoke — different heights, different carving on the headboard, different timber if you'd prefer something with more character in the grain. Also available in pine for a different aesthetic. If you have a specific ceiling height or under-bed clearance in mind, give us those measurements and we'll design around them. Typical lead time is 4–5 weeks.
Made to order in our Welsh workshop. Prices include VAT. Schools and educational establishments are welcome to order on account by purchase order.
