A memorial plaque for someone who loved the river: a hand-carved oak branch with a hand-painted kingfisher perched on the end, reeds either side, and their name with "Gone fishing" carved beneath.
The kingfisher comes from our Kingfisher Memorial Bench. Kingfishers are rarely seen but always remembered: a flash of blue over the water, gone before you have quite registered it. On a riverside bench, a fishing lake or a garden pond, it says a great deal without many words.
Fix it to a bench that is already there by the water, or to a wall, post or gate.
Every plaque is drawn by hand for you, then carved and hand-painted in solid oak in our Mid Wales workshop and sealed for life outdoors.
The photo shows a design visualisation of this plaque. Every plaque is made to order with your own wording, and we send you a drawing to approve before we carve.
Sizes & Fixing
- 30cm wide: right for most bench backrests, and for a wall, gate or post. Also lovely kept at home.
- 45cm wide: for wide backrests, walls and gates, with room for a longer verse.
- Pre-drilled for four screws; stainless or brass fixings supplied.
Key Features
- Solid oak, hand-drawn, hand-carved and hand-finished
- Hand-painted kingfisher and reeds; carved fish detail
- Name and wording of your choice
- Sealed for outdoor use
Your Version
Swap the kingfisher for a heron, an otter, a trout or a salmon, or add a fly rod. Our memorial bench wording ideas may help with the words.
