A solid oak dining table that does exactly what a dining table should do — and then one thing more. The top is built from three pieces of Welsh oak, butted and secured underneath, and it sits onto the leg frame without fixings. When you need to move it, you lift the top clear and carry the frame separately. For anyone who has ever tried to get a large dining table through a doorway or down a staircase, this is a feature that feels like a small act of genius.
The legs and stretcher frame are joined using traditional mortise and tenon joinery with wooden dowels — no metal, no screws, just tight oak-on-oak construction that becomes more solid as the timber settles. The wood is finished with eco-friendly organic Danish oil, which brings out the grain and gives the surface a matte warmth that ages beautifully. It works inside and outside equally well, though for permanent outdoor placement we’d recommend a covered position to protect the top.
