A solid bed frame built from reclaimed oak — timber with a previous life before it found its way to our workshop, carrying the patina, grain, and character that only old wood has.
Reclaimed oak is different from new-cut timber in ways that matter to a bed like this. It has already moved through its settling phase; the grain is dense and stable; the surface has developed the slight warmth that comes with time. The pieces we use are sourced from old buildings, barns, and structures where the oak did its first job well and has plenty of life remaining for a second one. The joinery is solid hand-built throughout. Each bed is handmade in our workshop in Wales, and the combination of reclaimed material and hand construction means no two are identical — the provenance of each piece of oak shapes the character of the piece.
