A garden bench with alternating slate and oak slats across the seat and back — reclaimed Welsh slate and locally sourced oak, built to sit outdoors in any weather and look better for it.
The striped effect comes from the contrast of materials: the deep blue-grey of the slate against the warm grain of the oak, each strip distinct, the whole bench reading as something between furniture and geology. Both materials are sourced in Wales — slate from the quarrying traditions of the North, oak from the Welsh hillsides — and both are built to outlast the garden they’re placed in. No two slates are the same; the tonal range is part of what makes each bench its own.
The timber sections are finished with three coats of Epifanes matt varnish for all-weather durability. The bench seats one generously or two who know each other well at 90cm wide. Works well against a wall, beside a gate, or as a pair flanking a path. Prices include VAT.
