The Wild Kingdom Animal Throne is a hand-carved oak throne alive with tropical wildlife — toucan, jaguar, lemur and coiling serpents carved in dramatic detail across the high backrest and posts, bringing the spirit of the jungle into any space that welcomes them.
Originally commissioned for Drusillas Zoo Park in East Sussex — one of the UK’s best-loved family zoos — these chairs were designed to sit within the landscape of the park and become part of the experience itself. Each throne is individual: the animals change between versions, so no two Wild Kingdom chairs are ever quite the same. Children who visit Drusillas know these chairs, and schools, visitor centres and nature reserves across the UK have since ordered their own versions inspired by the wildlife they care about most.
Carved by hand in our Mid Wales workshop from solid British oak, with vivid hand-painted detail and three coats of Epifanes matt varnish to keep the colour and carving sharp through all weather. The solid hand-built joinery means these chairs are built for outdoor life — heavy, grounded, and made to last.

Your Version
The Wild Kingdom throne is fully bespoke. If you have a zoo, wildlife park, nature reserve, school nature garden or visitor attraction with a particular animal identity, we can build the whole design around your wildlife. We have made versions with red kites, ospreys, otters, barn owls and highland cattle — any animal you have a story about, we can carve it. Tell us your animals and your setting, and we will design from there.
