A hand-built bed frame in driftwood collected from the Welsh coastline — solid, unhurried, and unlike anything a furniture shop will ever stock.
Every piece of driftwood in this bed was picked by hand from the shores near our workshop. The wood arrives already shaped by years of water and weather: the surfaces are smooth, the forms organic, the grain rich with the history of wherever it came from before the sea got it. Each piece is selected not just for its strength but for its character — the twist, the surface markings, the way it will sit against another piece. No two beds are identical. They couldn't be.
The frame is built using solid hand-built joinery throughout, with the headboard and footboard joining the side rails using coach bolt fittings designed for easy assembly and long-term strength. The driftwood is finished with a high-quality natural oil that nourishes the wood and lets the grain read clearly. This is a bed built to last decades, not seasons.

Your Version
We can build this bed to any size, with lower posts for rooms with sloping ceilings or a yurt, taller posts for a more dramatic presence, or adapted for under-bed storage drawers. The driftwood selection process is part of the conversation — tell us whether you want fine-grained coastal pieces, heavier weathered forms, or a mix. We work from a deposit and keep you informed as the build progresses.
